Local Community Club donates $4,000 towards parent chair

Local community club, Club Services Ipswich (CSI) generously donated $4,000.00 to fund a new parent chair for our local hospital. These special hospital chairs can fold down for a better night’s sleep for parents when needing to stay overnight.

However, these chairs do come at a high cost (about $4,000 each!), which is why the Hospital Foundation needs the kind support of the local community.

CSI General Manager, Natalia Onoprichuk said it was a great opportunity for the Club to support a local charity supporting the local community.

“The money was raised through our community donations, such as meat trays and raffles, which we hold all the time.

“We are a community club, and we believe that we should support the people who support us – our community.

“Every month, money from our fundraising goes into a kitty and we donate that money to local charities.

“We’re proud to donate $4,000.00 to support the Hospital Foundation purchase a new parent chair,” Ms Onoprichuk said.

Parent Chair that folds down for a better night’s sleep

Hospital Foundation CEO, James Sturges said that our local community should get the same level of care and support given at the big hospitals in Brisbane.

“Spending time in the hospital with sick kids can often be a stressful time, especially when you need to stay overnight.

“With the support of our community and organizations like CSI, we can make the stay for families in the hospital with their sick kids just a little more comfortable.

“These funds will go towards the purchase of a new parent chair that doubles as a fold-down bed for a better night’s sleep for tired parents.

“This support will be directly improving the patient and visitor experience at our local hospitals.

Thanks to CSI, we now have another chair on its way to the Children’s Ward,” Mr Sturges said.
